Ottawa Valley Stepdancing (no experience necessary)

Step dancing is fun, energetic and keeps you tapping around long after the class has ended!
Beginner class will start with what is known as Beginner Reel #1.  This reel consists of 12 steps which is equal to a 96 bar reel (4/4 or 2/4).  Reel #1 focuses on developing balance, rhythm/timing, and the basic movements that make up the bulk of the more advanced steps.  The steps follow a similar form and are repetitious, allowing students to learn fundamentals of the dance and get the most out of one routine.  Other routines that may be taught include: Beginner Jig #1  and Beginner Clog #1.  By the end of the dance sessions, students will be able to dance along to a recording as a group (choreography can also be put into the routine, time permitting)… one of the fun parts is choosing what reel you would like to dance to!)
