An introduction to the fundamentals of playing the Tin Whistle (aka
“Pennywhistle”). The class will cover the technical aspects of the
instrument (fingering, breath control, phrasing, basic ornamentation).
Students will learn the instrument in the traditional manner (aurally)
and begin building a working repertoire of tunes. No previous musical
experience is required. Students are strongly encouraged to bring a
notebook and a recording device.
