This course is for Scottish smallpipe and borderpipe players who would like to become comfortable with playing together with other musicians either privately or in a folk band or public celtic music session. The course will help players deal with the limitations of the instrument and open up its potential, developing playing techniques that are slightly different from band or competition playing. There will be a focus on tuning, tune learning and session etiquette. Whistle technique can also be introduced if there is interest.
